Happy Friday; it’s weekend reading time! Today’s post is coming to you in the form of a short and rambling letter, and it’s kind of jumped the queue in the long line of posts I have planned for this newsletter in general- the reason for this is that there’s something that’s been on my mind a lot lately, and I think the only way to get it out of my system is to put down some words onto digital paper, hoping that it lands with someone (or at the very least, gets these thoughts out of my head and out into the online newsletter great beyond!)
I don’t know if it’s the sheer amount of information and how-tos and DIYs and courses and videos and tutorials (and on, and on, and on…) that exist out there, but we are living in a period of information overload. THE period of information overload, surely, and I’m certain that we have never had more information at our fingertips than we do at this very moment. And this can be a good thing! But it’s also incredibly overwhelming, among many other downsides. This pressure cooker of information and STUFF being shown to us on a daily basis can make us feel like we should be doing something, anything, to change our current design situation. Should I paint my bedroom? Does my sofa need new pillows? Should I install a carpet runner on my stairs? Where can I put that fun wallpaper? (and on, and on, and on…)
