Colorful fabrics I've been loving lately
stripes and florals, yes- but options you haven't seen before.
It’s probably cliche to wax poetic about how much I like fabric- I mean, doesn’t every designer and interior lover? It’s the perfect medium to use in your space to express a personality or a feeling, to fill a space with color and pattern, or to achieve that often-elusive softness and cozy factor that’s so integral to a well-balanced and well-designed room. I think it’s an element that a lot of people often forget, or haven’t ventured into yet…but once you make something (anything!) in a custom fabric, there’s no going back. It’s addictive, and I’m not currently in search of the antidote. However, if you’re entrenched in the design world as I am, even if it’s just as a voyeur, it’s easy to fall into the habit of the common classics. Yes, I adore Lee Jofa's Althea and Hollyhocks SO much still, and have used it in several rooms in my own home. And I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it! But I do like to embellish these classics with some fresh, lesser-known or lesser-used options to keep it interesting. Selecting fabric can feel very overwhelming, and I’m always turning the page corner down in my design magazine or screenshotting new options that I love to order physical samples to add to my library. So when I read the most recent post by Tat London (a forever favorite read!), I was inspired to make my own round-up (there is some overlap here, so if you like what I’m putting out, you will also like Tat, who I find endlessly inspiring and interesting). Let’s get into it!
