Client Project Before & After: The Capitol Hill Classic
before an after of this DC "grand dame" townhouse on the hill
You may have seen me share on Instagram that one of my favorite design projects to date was recently featured in Home & Design magazine- if not, you can catch up by reading the feature here. I thought that it might be nice to dive a little deeper into the project today in this newsletter, where I can share some before photos and some more details and notes about the project itself- why we made the decisions we did, what challenges we came across, and what we ultimately hoped to convey with the final design. And if you’re tired of seeing this project all over the place, I’m sorry! We actually wrapped this up almost two years ago and I finally got around to having it published, so I’m sharing as much of it as possible before it fades into the obscurity of the internet, never to be seen again. She deserves her moment in the sun, I think. And if you’re not tempted by that, let me tempt you with this clickbait-y line: you’ll never believe what the kitchen looked like before.
Note! This is a very photo-heavy post. If you are reading this in your email, it might cut you off- consider reading it in the Substack app or on your computer to get the full effect! And thank you for making it all the way through this post- it’s a long one!
